Marcus has been a friend for many years. He first started training with me to keep up on the soccer field. Over the years we’ve watched him gain confidence in his abilities. With that confidence has come the willingness to try just about anything. Marcus is a great example of how strength happens in the body and mind.

1. How long have you been doing the SH program and what value has it brought you?

I have been working out with Mike for as long as the gym has been open and before. I attribute my current health, wellbeing , strength, energy and mental focus on having a trainer/friend guide, encourage and push me for all those years. It becomes a lifestyle and not so much a choice at this point even though the physical demands never become easier!

2. What does strength happens mean to you, and how do you apply it to your day to day life?

This particular program has been a staple for my body and mind for years. Every season our workouts change so we are never overloading one movement however we never loose our overall cardio or strength throughout the year. This has maintained my fitness and strength so at 42 I feel as though I have as much energy and strength as in my early 30’s. I also want to be as fit as I can to keep up with my son and his future activities.

3. What activities do you like to do outside of the gym?

Run, Soccer, Motorcycling, Biking, Swimming and everything else I have not tried yet. That is the beauty about this program. The older I get, I still have the ability to try new activities.

4. What’s your favorite healthy “go to” snack?

Oatmeal with protean powder, add walnuts. Or handful of almonds.

5. Top 3 songs on your ideal workout playlist?

Anything Rock!
